An interesting scientific discovery was made recently: giant bacteriophages (viruses that attack bacteria) were found in a number of animals, including humans. These viruses are about 10 times bigger than previously known bacteriophages, and appear to have more sophisticated mechanisms for attacking bacterial cells.
