John Salvatier's essay articulates something I've been trying to wrap my head around for a while. Reality is surprisingly complicated. Almost every field of science and engineering has an immense amount of detail and nuance involved in it, and much of the knowledge is not transferable from one domain to another. Knowledge is fractal – the more you learn, the more you realize you don't know.
