'Negative emissions' is the term used to describe the idea of removing CO2 from the atmosphere to reduce the rising global temperature. This article covers the various options we have at the moment to take carbon out of the atmosphere, and argues we will need 10 gigatons of negative emissions to keep us below the recommended 2 degree Celsius temperature rise target.
